Job Description
This position will ensure an unforgettable dining experience for our guests by assisting servers and other staff members as needed. The role will involve refilling water and beverages, as well as presenting food to guests when necessary. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong communication skills.
The Food Runner will be responsible for:
- Stocking linens, porcelain, silverware, and glassware for service, ensuring all items are polished and in good condition.
- Greeting guests in a professional manner, serving beverages and food while explaining their content, and anticipating guests’ needs before requests are made.
- Preparing condiments and garnishes.
- Having thorough knowledge of all menus.
- Assisting with customer service, including retrieving food from the kitchen using trays and safely delivering it to guests, as well as clearing items from guests’ tables.
- Being a team player and assisting others when needed.
- Being available to work on weekends and holidays.
- Clearing, cleaning, and setting up tables, buffets, and food stations.
- Complying with Restaurant SOTTO by Soubois standards.
- Reporting any incidents or unusual situations to the supervisor as quickly as possible.
- Performing other assigned tasks.
Required skills
1 year of experience in the same position, ideally in a luxury hotel environment.
Fluent in both French and English.
A strong affinity for customer service.
Good interpersonal skills. This position involves a high volume of guest contact, and excellent communication skills are required.
Ability to move around the establishment and stand for long periods.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (13 kg).
A flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts: days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
